David Gray-Donald
David Gray-Donald is a media worker, fundraiser, and climate justice advocate living in Toronto. He was the publisher of Briarpatch Magazine in Treaty Four (Regina, Saskatchewan) until 2019, and co-founded Resource Movement, a group of young people with class privilege or wealth working toward the redistribution of wealth, land, and power. He is an editor with the Media Co-op and recently co-launched a free alt magazine in Toronto, The Grind.

Andrej Grubacic
Andrej Grubacic is a dissident from the Balkans. A radical historian and sociologist, he is the author of Wobblies and Zapatistas: Conversations on Anarchism, Marxism and Radical History; Don’t Mourn, Balkanize! Essays after Yugoslavia; and the editor of From Here to There: The Staughton Lynd Reader. A fellow traveler of Zapatista-inspired direct-action movements, in particular Peoples’ Global Action, and a cofounder of Global Balkans Network and Balkan Z Magazine, he is associate professor in cultural anthropology at California Institute of Integral Studies.

Dennis Gruending
Dennis Gruending has written and edited eight books, including biographies of former Saskatchewan premier Allan Blakeney and of Emmett Hall, whose Royal Commission recommended Medicare for Canada. Gruending has worked as a print and television journalist and as a CBC Radio host. He served as a New Democratic Party MP in the 36th parliament and was his party’s critic for the environment and for international development. He later wrote speeches for former Saskatchewan Premier Lorne Calvert, and later still spent six years at the Canadian Labour Congress. He and his wife, Martha Wiebe, live in Ottawa. Alexis Pauline Gumbs
Alexis Pauline Gumbs was the first person to dig through the archives of several radical black feminist mothers including June Jordan, Audre Lorde, Lucille Clifton, and Toni Cade Bambara while writing her dissertation We Can Learn to Mother Ourselves: The Queer Survival of Black Feminism, a 500-page work. Alexis was named one of UTNE Reader’s 50 Visionaries Transforming the World in 2009, a Reproductive Reality Check Shero, and a Black Woman Rising nominee in 2010, and was awarded one of the first ever Too Sexy for 501c3 trophies in 2011! Alexis’s work as co-creator of the Mobile Homecoming experiential archive and documentary project has been featured in Curve magazine, the Huffington Post, in Durham Magazine and on NPR.

Andy Hanson
Andy Hanson retired from teaching to write labour history. He lives in Toronto with his partner. In the 1997 campaign against Premier Mike Harris, he was a member of the local consolidated committee of five teachers’ unions organizing marches and rallies, co-ordinating picket lines, and communicating with members. After the men’s and women’s elementary teachers amalgamated, he was elected ETFO local vice-president and held that position for twelve years. Hanson received his PhD in Canadian Studies from Trent University in 2013.

John-Henry Harter is a lecturer in history and labour studies at Simon Fraser University. He is an award-winning teacher whose research and teaching focus on both environmental and labour history as well as pop culture. He has published in both academic journals and popular magazines. He lives with his partner and two dogs on the west coast of what we call Canada. When not teaching or writing he is consuming far too much coffee and reality TV.
