    The 2016 Canadian Historical Association’s book prizes were recently announced and two of BTL’s books came away with prizes: Unsettling Canada: A National Wake-Up Call by Arthur Manuel and Grand Chief Ron Derrickson; and Lunch-Bucket Lives: Remaking the Workers’ City by Craig Heron.

    Unsettling Canada: A National Wake-Up Call by Arthur Manuel and Grand Chief Ronald M. Derrickson with foreword by Naomi Klein has been short-listed for the Canadian Historical Association’s Aboriginal History Book Prize.

    Lunch-Bucket Lives:Remaking the Workers’ City by Craig Heron is the International Labor History Association’s (ILHA) 2015 Book of the Year. Lunch-Bucket Lives was also recently short-listed for the Sir John A. Macdonald Prize in History.

  • Erratum and apologies issued for error in Flight & Freedom

    Page 178 of Flight & Freedom includes the phrase “Polish SS (Schutzstaffel)” and should read “SS (Schutzstaffel)”. The authors’ intent was to reference the German SS in occupied Poland, not in any way to imply there was a Polish SS.
