Wayne Roberts is a leading North American writer, activist and practitioner in community food security. Long-time manager of the renowned Toronto Food Policy Council, he now writes and speaks around the world on subjects relating food and cities. He has served on the board of many leading food organizations, including Community Food Security Coalition, Food Secure Canada, FoodShare and Unitarian Service Committee-Seeds of Diversity.
Laura Ellyn is a writer and illustrator who lives in Montreal, Quebec. She studied Women’s Studies and Fine Arts at Concordia University. Her work has previously been published in Bitch, Briarpatch, and the Vancouver Review, as well as in the Indie Ladies Anthology and Indie Comics Quarterly.
Lesley J. Wood is Associate Professor of Sociology at York University in Toronto, Canada. She is the author of Direct Action, Deliberation and Diffusion: Collective Protest After the WTO Protests in Seattle and co-author of the third edition of Social Movements 1768–2012 (Paradigm Publishers) with the late Charles Tilly.
From 1974 to 1986 Tim McCaskell was a member of the collective that ran The Body Politic, Canada’s iconic gay liberation journal. He was a founding member of AIDS ACTION NOW!, and a spokesperson for Queers Against Israeli Apartheid. He is the author of Race to Equity: Disrupting Educational Inequality.
